CITY INVESTING.

Proof that it took architects a few years to get the hang of this skyscraper business.

The City Investing Tower, built in 1908, was gigantic - and an utter mess. To modern eyes it looks like something from a Batman movie. The awkwardness of the building stemmed partly from the fact that the investors bought every parcel of land on the block . . . except one. They could only build two wings instead of a nice symmetrical three.

Can you spot the holdout?
