Writing Fluid. You may know it as "ink." This is a marvelous little reminder of life before the ball-point pen became ubiquitous: kids had to refill their pens from bottles, and no doubt got the stuff everywhere.

I wonder what it smelled like, and whether someone who was a kid in the 50s would be brought back to childhood instantly with just a faint whiff.

Also wonder whether the juvenile delinquents huffed the stuff to see if they could get goofed up.
