Unliving non-birds fly from the ketchup-drenched Meat Hat. Your guests will love it!
There was a strange vogue in the 60s and 70s for the language and style of 19th century posters, with their assertions and come-ons stacked on top of each other, profuse with exclamation points. It was part of the “Americana” craze in graphic design. Woodcuts, old typography. I suppose it was intended to make things seem more authentic, ground them in cultural history, but there was often a sense of cheerful indifference to the usage, as if the designers knew it was just a series of visual cliches they could use to make something stand out.
