That is a beautiful bulk plant, and as someone who grew up around such things, it’s remarkable they got it illustrated. No one probably cared much about getting the matchbook, unless you were a friend, and shared his pride.

It looks practically bucolic.

The owner died in 2005, and I note that he expanded the business to include convenience stores. I think he would have gotten along with my father just fine.

Unless he set up that operation down the road, which would be a different story.
