Frank built the Whirlwind to go into Injun country and find the brutal leader of an uprising, Cut Nose.
I should note that the description of these vehicles is a feature of the first page, and we're always told it's the most luxurious vehicle anywhere, with curtains, rich wood, scientific instruments, and guns. Lots of guns. "There were plenty of Winchester rifles, lots of ammunition, and two electric guns aboard the Whirlwind." And there's always an elaborate galley for Pomp, the "Faithful Negro." Every story is the same, more or less; the only question is whether we're on land, sea, under the sea, or up in the air.
I wonder if there's a moon shot in this series. There has to be. An electrical moon rocket! With a galley! And rifles! |
