Something else is off. Here's the inevitable description of the interior.
The trimmings and fitting of the boat were superb.
From the pilot-house theey descended into the cabin.
This was a long compartment elegantly furnished the finest of appointments.
Staterooms adjoined and electric lights were upon every hand.
It seems a bit rote. There's no mention of Pomp's galley. At the end of the book, the Explorer is "stored away to be used upon some future occasion."
