The strange thing about this genre of lodging: if there’s a Holiday Inn in a town today, it’s not the original Holiday Inn. That old joint was long ago knocked down or sold and rebranded. The new one is four stories tall, has no sign, and the exterior walls look as if they’ve been sprayed on.

Which they were.

The address is Highway 231 South, which is never enough. Telling you which side of the street it's one is not as helpful as telling you which side of town it's on.
