Scherzo.
It wasn't where Corbett looked; it was a few blocks back. Scherzo sat outside Charlie's Cafe Exceptionale, a long-lamented eatery that defined good food in Minneapolis - in an er when tastes were not as complex and diverse as today.
The statue was made by Harriet Frishmuth, and I wouldn't be surprised if the model was Frishmuth's favorte, Desha Delteil.
The statue was originally placed in the courtyard by the Foshay Tower; the picture at right, from the MHS, shows the 1929 dedication ceremony. There was also a Sousa march commissioned for the event. Mr. Foshay probably had the best day of his life, right there.
