Even when America built fascistic buildings, they still had the human touch. This is the main Post Office for Minneapolis, and it's one of the more handsome 1930s buildings downtown. It's also one of the only ones, but even in a crowded field it would win: it has a stolid, solemn presence that advertises the broad-shouldered virtues of the distant Federal gods; it has enough surface decoration to entice the pedestrian, and its exterior is a golden temple for the postal customer.
